Buying Google Play gift cards online sounds like a great idea, but what happens when you go to redeem your gift card and it doesn’t work? In some cases, the money is credited back to your account; in others, it may seem like there’s nothing wrong with the gift card at all. Before you go around in circles with customer service, here are some reasons why your Google Play gift card may not be working.
Go To The Google Wallet
When you redeem a digital gift card, it will be associated with your Wallet balance. Your Wallet balance displays your total dollar amount loaded across all of your digital gifts and Google Offers. This can help you decide which payment method to use when making a purchase.
If you have a physical plastic gift card, it will be associated with your credit or debit card. This means that when you use it to make a purchase, you’ll be charged immediately from your bank account. You can’t change which bank account or credit/debit card is associated with a physical plastic gift. If you want to switch between them, ask whoever gave you the physical plastic gift to do so for you.
Once you redeem a physical plastic gift card, you can use it to make purchases on either Android or iOS devices. You can also use it to make purchases from Google Play on your computer. If you see your credit or debit card on file but aren’t able to access your Wallet balance for some reason, check that your payment information is up-to-date. To edit your credit or debit card
Tap Redeem
If you’re having problems with your Google Play gift card, there are a few things you can try to redeem it. First of all, check if you have enough funds on your gift card by tapping Redeem in Settings and going to Cards. If it says Available Balance: xxx, xxx, then you’re good to go—if not, make sure to add funds to your account and try again later. Next, tap Redeem to your desired purchase on the checkout screen.
Finally, if you’re sure that you have enough balance on your gift card and you’ve already tapped Redeem once, try tapping Redeem again. If none of these solutions work for you, contact support with as much detail as possible about your problem. It may be possible to resolve it quickly!

Enter Your Code
If you’ve received a Google Play gift card and it isn’t working, here are some things to keep in mind. While your main concern should be contacting customer service, there are a few different reasons why your Google Play code may not be redeemed properly, so we’ll discuss all of them.
If you’re entering your code on a mobile device, ensure that you have sufficient storage space and a stable internet connection. Also, make sure that any security programs (anti-virus or firewall) are disabled. While these shouldn’t affect your ability to redeem your gift card, they could prevent it from being properly detected by your computer or mobile device.
If you’re having problems with your physical Google Play gift card, try taking it to your local store. You should have a receipt or packing slip that shows where you bought it and when. The cashier will either be able to read off your code or give you a new one. This process can take some time, but once redeemed, your credit should appear on your account immediately.
The System Will Ask You to Sign in If You Haven’t Already
enter your e-mail address and password. Then go to Redeem in the menu and click on Enter your code manually. It will then ask you for a PIN which you will have to create: click on Create new PIN, enter your desired number, confirm it by entering it again, and save your details. That’s all! You are now able to use Google Play gift cards with no problems at all.
You can check your balance in your account: click on Settings and go to Payment methods. Scroll down and click on Redeem Card. Enter PIN, then click Redeem Card. Your balance will appear with a message saying that you can use it for purchases now. To use it, add something you want to buy in your cart and proceed to checkout where you’ll find a field where you can enter your code by clicking on Continue after redeeming. That’s all!
Check Your Balance Again
If you’re sure that you’ve entered all of your account information correctly, double-check your balance on the internet. If it still doesn’t work, call Google Play customer service at (855) 836-3987. They can help if there’s a problem with your card or account.
If you already have a registered credit or debit card on file, your order will automatically be charged to that account. Otherwise, you can enter any eligible credit or debit card for a one-time payment. After verifying your new payment method, simply tap Next to continue with your purchase. This may take some time to process; don’t worry! You won’t be charged until you place an order through the Google Play store.
